This trail is located in Carmel’s far northeastern outskirts, with its mile-long asphalt trail running parallel to the White River through wooded acres.

In this place, the Monon Trail and the White River Greenway, two highlighted experience trails, are both close to parking, shopping, dining, and local parks.

Visit Conner Prairie for a day of adventure and a hike along the White River’s Nature Walk through a forest to prairie land.

The Town Run Trail Park is a top park and garden in Carmel.

This 127-acre natural resource park is in Indianapolis, Indiana, United States.

Although this facility is owned by Indy Parks and Recreation building, it was possible through donations from Martin Marietta Aggregates, Mr. Oliver Dougherty, and R.N. Thompson Associates Inc.

Trails in this park are designed for mountain bikes and are well maintained.

If you are a runner, you can come here and use this spot, because it is the only natural surface trail in or near Carmel.

Also, in the southern portion of the park, there is a beautifully restored prairie.

Northern side of the park also has a riparian habitat is full of invasive honeysuckle.

River Road Park is a 62-acre park located along the banks of the White River and is soon to include a canoe launch for boaters and fishers alike.

It is one of the best parks around Carmel with amazing views of the river year-round and a great trail system that goes around the park and right down by the river.

There are trails, a little playground, a sandbox, plus a large green space.

There’s also a little building with a museum-like exhibit of what early life was like in Indiana and showcasing some artifacts.

Random as it may seem, exploring it will point out the little surprises in it.

During the summer, when everywhere is hot, it is a good place to launch kayaks from and then end at the kayak landing at hazel landing park.

Kayaking here is one of the fun things to do. Since the waters here are calm and not too dangerous, it is safe to do.

Located on the Eastside of Carey Road just south of 146th Street in Carmel, Carey Grove Park is a fun park and classy place to spend time.

This 5-acre park was originally developed from 1997 to 1998 and was finally unveiled in 2020.

The park is home to a playground, year-round bathrooms, permanent outdoor exercise equipment, musical features, resurfaced trails, a half-basketball court, and both a community and seasonal shelter.

In this park, the reimagined playground is divided into two sections, one of which is designed for children from 2 to 5 years of age, and the other is designed for children from 5 to 12 years of age.

Children will enjoy climbing, sliding, swinging, and more on this modern playground.

There is squishy ground, things to climb, and all the musical stations here are functional.

Zionsville Lions Club Park is an 18-acre recreational park owned and managed by Zionsville Lions Club.

This Park has seven baseball and softball diamonds, a full-size lighted basketball court, two lighted tennis courts/pickleball courts, a sand volleyball court, and two playgrounds.

Several travelers moving in and out of Carmel have made this place one of the top places to visit in the state.

Considering its beauty and vast grounds, it is no surprise this place could count as one of the most beautiful places in the United States.

A paved path on a former rail line!

The Monon Trail is a rail-trail located entirely within the state of Indiana.

This notable Monon Railroad was a popular railroad line connecting the cities of Chicago and Indianapolis, with stops at major settlements along its route.

However, after the decline of railroad travel and the sale of the company in 1987, the portion of the line between Indianapolis and Delphi, Indiana, was abandoned.

In Northwest Indiana, the trail is 4.4 miles long, running through Lake County from Munster to Hammond.

Also, In the Indianapolis area, the trail consists of 18.1 miles running through Hamilton and Marion counties, connecting Indianapolis, Carmel, and Westfield.

The trail has been extended to Sheridan, making the total length 24 miles.

These first portions of the trail were created in the late 1990s, but it has been consistently extended in both of its segments since then.

Moreover, the trail is a shared-use path complete with trailheads, park amenities, and local attractions near it.
