According to legend, the name “Show Low” came from a poker game played many years ago between Corydon Cooley and Marion Clark, who were partners in a vast ranch but couldn’t work together with any longer.

If you can show low, you win,” Clark declared at one point during the game, which ran for hours and hours with no prospect of stopping.

The other man responded by showing his hand, which was the lowest it could be, saying, “Show low it is.”

One of the best things to do in Show Low is to visit this location. It is one of the most popular places in the area.

This Lake has a little bit of something for everyone.

You can sit by the lake and enjoy the wildlife or rent a bike, kayak, fish or hike the trails around the lake.

There is an easy trail that goes around the lake to allow you to explore it, which was nice. There is also a well-maintained campground with RV or tent camping.

You can go fishing, boating, camping, seeing animals, hiking along the lake, or simply having a picnic. There are restrooms and showers available in the park.

The Fool Hollow Lake Recreation Area is a lovely spot, and it’s close to the city, so you may return at any time.

It’s a family-owned firm that makes some incredible beer using all-natural, locally sourced ingredients.

The establishment is especially kid-friendly, as it offers a variety of handcrafted sodas and snacks.

If you are uncertain about where to start, start with a flight selection. The host also offers taste samples. So you can taste it till you find your special beer.

Beer here is masterfully brewed. The setting is rural, casual, and unpretentious. From the minute you enter, you are made to feel welcome, almost like you are at a house party at a friend’s place.

Additionally, the Whiskey Red is very tasty. The cheesesteak food trailer grills up an excellent (and huge) Philly or Jersey sandwich. The human brewmaster is a friendly host, as is his trusted sidekick brewpub, Comet.

Speaking of beer, great choices, great beer. Oh, and if you want to know more about what you are drinking, the owners will gladly share the art of brew making with you.

This brewery does not have a sign on Highway 260, so watch for the street sign to turn off onto a small country lane. Friendly service, great brews, and a relaxed atmosphere.

If you’re exhausted from all the trekking and golfing, stop by this brewery for a refreshing local brew.

You may also bring your own meat and cook it on the visitor-friendly grill.

Overall, it’s a beautiful spot to spend quality time with family and friends.

You will enjoy the city museum whether or not you are a history buff. Whether you are young or elderly, you will still enjoy it.

It has 16 rooms, each with a different theme, illustrating the area’s history creatively and interestingly.

PerSNIKKIty’s Cafe & Bakery is Show Low’s most well-known café and bakery. It began with a small menu of freshly baked pastries, a few gourmet salads, coffee, and sandwiches in 2011.

It’s clear that it’s a local favorite. The parking lot is small, and it’s a constant stream of cars jockeying for position and grabbing a rare open spot.

Get there early, and tables turn over quickly, but there is a reason for the crowd. The food and coffee are fantastic!

Over time, the cafe has grown to deliver more goods as clients have desired more. Currently, the menu offers an incredible selection of fresh, healthy, and delectable items.

There are about five outdoor tables. Most are bar-top 2-seaters and a couple of standard picnic tables with umbrellas—all pet-friendly.

They prepare cuisine and serve guests understanding that everyone’s needs and desires are different.

As a result, you’ll find a wide range of exciting dishes, including gluten-free selections, produced from the freshest ingredients.

Everything is incredible. The gyro, the bbq chicken wrap, the avocado toast, and the deviled egg sandwich, all five stars.

Hand-pressed Certified Angus Beef Burgers with delectable toppings and distinctive sauces are also available. BBQ Chipotle Chicken and Pineapple Sandwich are two of these incredible recipes.

The salmon burger is also great; the latte along with it will make your day.

This place is a lot of fun. Happy decor with equally delighted folks. Great food comfort style.

The church itself is welcoming & so many people here were friendly, warm & very welcoming! The talk & music were terrific!

The sight of trees and mountains amid white clouds would be breathtaking.

The sunset ride is undoubtedly the nicest of all the activities here. You can enjoy magnificent panoramas as the sunsets.

Silver Creek Fish Hatchery lives on commission-owned land acquired in 1978.

The facility is set in 820 acres of beautiful Arizona countryside. Allows novices, pros, and everyone in between to test their mettle against the tens of thousands of Apache, Gila, rainbow, bluehead sucker, and speckled dace that breed there.

Fishermen have taken to the site. It now offers a split trout season to suit both catch-and-release anglers and those who like to keep their catch. Moreso, Silver Creek Hatchery produces all the Apache trout stocked in Arizona.

Even if you don’t like to go fishing, the park is still a pleasant place to visit, with plenty of paths and wildlife to see.

Beautiful, well maintained, lots of parking, and good fishing. A great spot for kids too. One of our favorite fishing spots in the White Mountains.

It is open daily from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Closed for Thanksgiving and Christmas.

The Willis Farm is a family-owned and operated enterprise. This location is not only a farm but also a tourist destination that is much more beautiful during the Halloween season.

Willis Farm, located in Snowflake, is another great location to explore if you’re in or near Show Low. The farm is a lovely agricultural region that tourists (and locals) can visit.

Best place to get pumpkins in all of Arizona.

It is super affordable and you go around through the place picking pumpkins off the stems.

They also have a corn maze, a haunted corn maze, and a lazar tag maze, which is super cheap compared to all the other places in Arizona

It is such a fun zone. A stunning sunflower garden, an agri-fact maze, laser tags, meadows, corn plantations, and creeks are among the attractions.

Alpacas, turkeys, and cows are among the creatures that live on the farm.

When you go into the corn maze, you try to find checkpoints and it’s just an overall very fun experience.

Willis Farm is open Monday through Thursday from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m., Friday from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m., and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

If you are into moose bear etc, this is a great store! not cheap but very nice quality and service. Even have some clothing as well.

The store has lots of really cool, cabin-type décor, and it all comes along with tourist prices. They have a wide variety of things in there.

What a fantastic shopping location!

The store’s owners are extremely polite and helpful, always greeting visitors and offering helpful advice or assistance.

There’s a great range of western and native American lodge-style goods.

There’s even jewelry! From the outside, this appears to be a small store, but once you get inside, you’ll be astounded.

If you enjoy bears, and they have a lot of them.

If you have too much to handle, you will be helped to carry some of your goods.

You can visit this small but cute gift shop if you enjoyed the city of Show Low and want to take home some memories as well as some great things for people back home.

Some people compare it to a museum because there are so many interesting artifacts.

Additionally, they sell rustic home décor as well as themed products, including bears, deer, elks, and other local wildlife.

The Second Knoll Target Range is a first-class gun range open to the public.

The Second Knoll Target Range is one of Arizona’s premier game and fishing ranges, located in the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest in the White Mountains.

The venue has a 100-yard all-purpose range for rifles and pistols that are open to the public. It also has a 50-yard “bullseye” pistol range with spinning targets and four 25-yard training and competition bays.

Although membership is not required, there are several advantages to becoming a member.

The Range is located on public land; it is managed by the non-profit White Mountain Shooters Association.

Moreso, range Safety Officers are on hand to enforce Range laws and provide help.

The Range, in partnership with shooting clubs, offers a variety of shooting disciplines, including Bullseye, Cowboy, Practical Shooters, and Defensive, among others.

A fast trek along the Bluff Trail is another pleasurable outdoor activity in Show low.

You start out looking at a lovely vast meadow. You can do one of two things – a little hiking or do more of a walk.

The route takes roughly 1-2 hours to walk, depending on your strides and walking speed. You might also go on a hike or ride your bike here.

It makes no difference what your fitness level is; the route is a simple walk for everybody. You can try it out regardless of your age group.

Furthermore, it presents a nice big parking lot, with clean bathrooms and information to boot.

Plenty of places to stop and sit or enjoy the little stream, which apparently has fish in it and there are two little fishing docks.
